Moses Kuria is one of the F4 certified trainers. On this Saturday, May 16th 2015, Kuria took the lead in training nearly 70 Participants of an F4 class at the African Gospel Church (AGC) - Karen. The focus for that day was on Week 2 under the Financial Freedom for Families Facilitators and Study guide booklet which Kuria explored was managing God’s Wealth: Principles of Biblical Stewardship. The principles of work as the basis for creating wealth according to Biblical truths were explored. Also handled were basic tenets of rest, budgeting, saving and investing according God’s design for mankind. This is part of the wider collaborations between CMS-Africa and AGC where the former has continued to equip the church for service.
The principle rest was delved into with participants mesmerized that they rarely take a rest.“Many of us work at our workplace and continue working at home late into the night. The working woman in modern society knows no rest.It is work day and night to make ends meet,” lamented Mrs Kipkemboi. The class was reminded of God’s commands about rest which they were glad to go practice in their daily life. He worked day and it was night (implying resting time).“Rest demonstrates our dependence on the grace of God. God is very interested with rest that in Exodus 31:12-17, the penalty is death.
Everyone must have some time to rest and rest must be wholistic:- Physical, mental, emotional, relational among others,” debated F4 Trainer, Moses Kuria. The participants were also taken through budgeting principles and encouraged to follow God’s lead and purpose for their lives prioritizing what is to be spent in their lives.
Spending and how we make use of God given resources determines whether God qualifies us as good and faithful stewards or bad and lazy ones. The good and faithful servant enter God’s rest while the bad and lazy one is thrown out in the dark where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.F4 is just one of the programmes where CMS-Africa is engaged with the AGC church. The other one is the Samaritan Strategy Africa (SSA) where thousands have been equipped o principles of stewardship through VISION Conferences.
The F4 training at AGC Karen runs for three months, May to July 2015.
