Samaritan strategy is a ministry that encourages, prepares and equips churches around the globe with a biblical worldview to carry out wholistic ministry in their communities.
The Samaritan strategy serves the church of Jesus Christ worldwide by assisting her with a training programme to declare the good news of the kingdom of God in word and deed.
We accomplish this objective by training church leaders, pastors, missionaries, and believers to think and operate with a comprehensive, biblical worldview.
Why the Samaritan Strategy?
The parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37), Jesus says, “If you want to inherit eternal life, love God and demonstrate your for God by loving your neighbour- acting neighbourly to those in need.” God sent His son Jesus Christ-the Good Samaritan to neighbour us.
God has now raised up the church to manifest his passionate heart to a broken world. The church is to be the Good Samaritan – act neighbourly to broken people.
Worldviews
Every culture has its story. The story that we tell creates the framework for our own lives, and it should also create the framework for our professional lives.
A worldview is like a pair of glasses. It determines what we see, not what is there to be seen. Many of us wear glasses. What happens when you take them off? The world looks a little different. Worldviews is like a set of glasses for the mind. Everyone has these glasses on their minds, and the lenses in them have been set by culture.
We all have a worldview, a framework by which we interpret reality. Ideas have consequences. As a man thinks so is he (pro. 23:7 NKJ). These sayings reflect the truth that a person’s (or people’s) beliefs impact on their behaviour, which in turn, brings forth consequences (either positive or negative) in their lives.
The biblical worldview can transform individual lives and entire nations. Conversely, lies, and false worldviews, and their assumptions lead to poverty, brokenness, destructions and underdevelopment.
Wholistic ministry
"Wholistic ministry" refers to a balanced and integrated ministry to the physical, spiritual, social, and wisdom needs of the community in which a local church is situated (Luke 2:52)
- Wholistic ministry reflects God’s care and intentions for the whole persons.
- Wholistic ministry points to God as relevant loving and able to transform lives, churches, communities and nations.
- Wholistic ministry is founded on biblical command of Jesus-to-love God and neighbour.
- It is a lifestyle of love (matt 22:37;38)
What is our purpose or Goal
To prepare Christians who have a heart to help the poor use worldview as a tool to expose the false principle that imprisons them and those living in poverty and hunger, and to create a framework for seeing through the lens of truth in order that people may discover God’s vision for their lives, communities and nations
To equip and mobilize local churches to proclaim and demonstrate God’s love for the whole person.
To help pastors and leaders of local churches give their people theology, strategy and practical experience in ministry to the spiritual, physical, mental and social needs of their neighbours.
To correct a belief that ministry to spiritual needs is the church’s sole focus
To teach kingdom principles and biblical methods for community ministry and personal development.
To provide not only methods, but also enhance believers relationship with the lord. He is the redeemer and transformer of individual and community. He is the source of strength and salvation.
To encourage and train materially poor churches to use local resources for wholistic ministry.
His intent was that now through the church, the manifold wisdom of god should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms (Eph 3:10).
Getting out the word
VISION conferences are three-to-five day events, presenting the biblical worldviews and tools for the wholistic ministry through lessons like:
- The transforming story
- The ABCs of culture
- Seed projects
- Kingdom and mathematics
Local churches organize the conferences and seek to raise up leadership to carry the vision in their communities. |
