In May 2015 Victoire Uwamaliya, wife to Bishop Emanuel Ngendahayo of Byumba diocese, Rwanda went to be with the Lord. CMS-Africa and the world at large received this shocking news of the loss of one of its champions in Rwanda Victoire Uwamaliya who served as the Mothers Union Leader of Byumba diocese.
CMS-Africa Staff who worked closely with Victoire send their deep, heartfelt condolences on her demise and we pray that her soul find peace in the Lord - (Psalm 116:7). “We were very shocked and saddened with news of Bishop Ngendahayo losing his beloved wife; Victoire Uwamaliya who served as the Mothers Union Leader in her diocese,” said Rev. Dennis Tongoi.Victoire was a simple and straight forward person, very analytical and a hard worker in service of God. For the years Victoire was known to CMS, she was outstanding in God’s service and many share in her loss. When Church Leader from Kenya went on an exchange visit in Rwanda, Victoire gave them a warm welcome to the hilly town of Byumba. “A guest house had been prepared for some of them and others got to spend at the residence of some of the church members from Byumba.
It is during these times that the team from Nakuru discovered something special about Victoire,” recalls Serah Wambua.Victoire was at the centre of the exchange programmes between the Kenyan and Rwandese dioceses. The beauty with exchange programs is that the learning experience is never a ‘one way traffic’ as evidenced by her remarks in 2012.
Victoire was a simple and straight forward person, who will be remembered for her analytical and hardworking tendencies in the service of God. “For the years Victoire has been known to us, she was outstanding in God’s service and many at CMS-Africa fraternity share in this untimely loss,” says yet another CMS-Africa Staffer Lucy Ochieng.
CMS-Africa understands that this is an irrecoverable loss as no one can take the place of a lovely spouse once departed.
