MICAH 4:1 (New King James Version)

 Edition 102/2015Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord,
“When the plowman shall overtake the reaper,
And the treader of grapes him who sows seed;
The mountains shall drip with sweet wine,
And all the hills shall flow with it.
I will bring back the captives of My people Israel;
They shall build the waste cities and inhabit them;
They shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them;
They shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them.
I will plant them in their land,
And no longer shall they be pulled up
From the land I have given them,”
Says the Lord your God." Amos 9: 13-15.

BURUNDI

The presidential election in Burundi takes place today 21st July after United Nations and African officials pushed for its postponement in May due to fear that the vote could spark more violence in the already tense country. Polls opened today at 06:00 local time (04:00 GMT), after a night of gunfire and explosions in the capital Bujumbura.
The BBC's Maud Jullien in Bujumbura says shooting is continuing in the streets. It seems that about 70 people have been killed inside Burundi and well over 100,000 have fled to neighbouring states. Inevitably, the economy is suffering.
Last week, soldiers and unidentified gunmen clashed in Kayanza province, near the border with Rwanda. The governor of Kayanza, Canesius Ndayimanisha, said the gunmen had crossed from Rwanda, a charge denied by Kigali but which will fan fears of a wider conflict.We urge you to pray that the people of Burundi would experience peace and stability in their country again. Pray that the disputes in the country would be solved amicably through negotiations and that the surrounding countries would play a constructive role for their sister country, being arbiters for peace.

SOUTH SUDAN
Prayer for a Nation
South Sudan recently marked its fourth anniversary since independence. "Join us in praying to our Lord Jesus Christ to intervene in the complex situation of wars, random killings, looting, torturing of innocent people, one burning of houses, mass displacement of people and animals among others. Pray for government and church leaders in South Sudan, Western Equatoria State, Yambio and in Maridi County for wisdom and guidance from God to lead his people and be able to restore peace in the country,” says the Rev Moses Zungo from Maridi.
Pray for the IDPs in South Sudan and particularly those displaced by recent fighting in Maridi and are suffering in bushes and other in church compounds and facilities- remembering the lame, blind, pregnant women and children who are right now suffering.
Pray for families especially women who lost their husbands, innocently killed in South Sudan and now they are to lead families with number of orphan’s children.
Pray for pastors and their Christians now displaced that peace will prevail in the entire South Sudan.

Urgent Appeal for Help
Relief Assistance for the IDPS in Farajalla and Baiza payams
From Wau Diocese, Bishop Moses Deng writes: “We are extremely sad to write this letter of appeal to you for the relief assistance to the people of Farajalla and Baiza Payam of Western Bahr el Ghazal state, to alleviate the suffering of innocent children, women and elders who have been forced out from their homes and run to the bushes.”
On 29th June, 2015, one of the South Sudan rebel group attacked Farajalla Payam, 36 miles Southwest of Wau town of Western Bahr el Ghazal State. The attacks resulted in a burning of one day old child to death, killed one old man and massive displacement. This is the second time the rebels attacked Western Bahr el Ghazal state after last month’s attack in Baiza town, which resulted displacement of 500 households.
According to South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation commission in Western Bahr el Ghazal state confirmed that 739 households (3033 individuals) were displaced from their homes due to the eruption of fighting between government forces and the rebels in the Farajalla Payam, of Wau County. The area was completely devastated, the houses were burned down and their properties were looted. The victims ran to Ngodoakala Boma, where they occupy Ngodoakala primary school due to lack of shelter.
“We appeals to Anglican Communion Worldwide, International and Nation partners, friends, all the charity organizations and agencies to come in and help the internally displaced persons,” say Rev. Nathaniel Maral Mayom, Acting Diocesan Administrative Secretary
Pray for South Sudan and lobby your governments, organizations and churches as well to come up with possible approach of humanitarian assistant for the children and elderly people who are severely suffering in Ngodoakala, Farajalla Payam in Wau County. The Diocese of Wau of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan is deeply concerned and worried that if the situation is not contained as soon as possible, it may turn into a worse one which will later result the death of more people due to cold, lack of food and diseases. Sudan Pastors being tried

In Sudan there is great anxiety for the two South Sudanese pastors being tried on capital charges. Amnesty International has issued an Urgent Action on Reverend Yat Michael and Reverend Peter Yen, who have had restricted access to their lawyer from 4 June, only being allowed to meet him once in court for only 10-15 minutes. They are currently being held in solitary confinement and are at risk of flogging and the death penalty if convicted. Please pray for them. You can join the Action by going to Amnesty’s website.
