40 Women Graduate from CMS-Africa’s WEP Program in Rwanda

40 women in Rwanda celebrated a significant milestone on the 9th of November, 2024 when they graduated from the Women Empowerment Program (WEP) run by the CMS-Africa.

The graduation ceremony which was held at the Byumba Anglican Diocese was the climax of the four-session training series that began in October 2024, equipping participants with essential skills in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, book keeping, and stewardship.

The program also fostered a supportive community where participants shared personal stories, learned from one another, and formed lasting connections.

With their new skills, the graduates are poised to make a meaningful difference, inspiring others and driving local economic growth.

To support their continued success, CMS-Africa aims to help the women form a cooperative, that will allow the women to pool their skills and resources, creating economic opportunities and promoting self-sufficiency within their community.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony, CMS-Africa country coordinator for Rwanda Rev. Josias Nkusi urged the women to put the lessons into practice.

“Today we are glad that you have acquired these vital skills on how to run your businesses as mission. These skills will however only be useful when we put them into practice,” said Rev. Nkusi.

In Africa, women tend to be greatly disadvantaged and CMS-Africa is empowering such women with financial skills that’ll enable them to look after themselves and their families by running small businesses.
